ParticipantHey Gowiso,
You are welcome, here we are happy to share the experience because this way better results come for everyone.
If you want to start with 500 USD I would suggest you to go for 0.01 lot and max with 10 EAs.
Now, once the EAs are on live, you should monitor their performance and have a different filter there. For example, I keep looking at the last 10 trade for Profit Factor 1.2, and just recently I added the R – squared above 60. So if it falls below that, I remove the EA from the live back to Demo for further tests.
So in the live account, you should keep only the EAs that profit.

ParticipantHi Bob,
Many thanks Bob, just for clarification,
1. the different EAs must have separate magic numbers ?
2.Can I open say 5 EG charts and trade the same EA ( with the same magic number) or in such a situation i would have to trade it on one chart but upscale the lot size.
Regards

ParticipantHello Gowiso,
Glad to hear you in the forum. Bob gave you a great answer, cheers, Bob!
Yes, the different EAs you should trade with different Magic Numbers so you can follow their performance.
If you open different charts with one EA, when the entry conditions are there it will open trades on all charts. So if you selected to trade with 0.01, you will have 5 positions with 0.01. This would be useful if you take your profits on different levels, anyway it is useless.
Let me know if there is something else.
Cheers,
gowiso
ParticipantHi Petko,
I am trying to import back the UJ EAs into the studio unfortunately its giving me an error “cannot import strategy; something is wrong with the file”

MemberHello Gowiso,
I just watch the USDJPY course and the EAs are created with FSB Pro, not with EA Studio. That is why you can not import them back in the EA Studio.
Cheers,

ParticipantHi Deniza,
Ouch !!!
Many thanks for the enlightenment so in essence we have to touch base with both engines ?By the way you may just call me Owiso, the G is for my baptismal name – Gaetano
Kind Regards

ParticipantHey Owiso,
you got the right answer, the Top 10 USDJPY are generated with FSB Pro. We expect updates in FSB Pro this year, and one of them is to accept the EAs from EA Studio. For the moment, you can just transfer some EAs from one to the other by building the strategies from the Strategy Editor.

ParticipantHey Petko,
any idea about the future updates in EA Studio? What we can expect more?

ParticipantHey Bob,
as far as I know, they are improving now the Walk Forward validation. I have included the Walk Forward in the new course that is coming up this week, and I will update it later with the improvements.

ParticipantPetko, I went over the videos for the EA Studio updates once again, so useful! Thanks a lot!
Petko Aleksandrov
ParticipantYes, I watch them periodically as well, same as most of the courses 🙂

ParticipantGlad to hear that, Sisi!
The updates were useful to me as well, that is why I decided to create these videos. If all is applied properly, your strategies and Expert Advisors will improve their performance.

ParticipantHi Petko! My new EAs using the OOS are much better – less drawdowns and better profit factor. Also, before I kept the EAs on live account about 2-3 weeks, now I have some EAs on live for over 45 days and they are still with profit factor above 1.2.
