ParticipantUsing the FTMO EA’s from EAtradingacademy has a setting that keeps the EA from trading during times when spreads are high.

ParticipantFTMO v5.0 needs to be installed on M15 time frame and you need to leave the chart set on M15. Then if you cannot backtest show a screenshot of the Strategy Tester .

ParticipantI haven’t seen this issue before. Have you tried to close MetaTrader and restart it. Have you removed the robot and reloaded it.

ParticipantThe trend changed and so the position was closed and a new position in the opposite direction was started.

ParticipantHi Emre,
Every prop firm and every broker will give different results because the historical data for each prop firm or broker is slightly different. This causes the Expert Advisors to take trades differently.
The FTMO Expert Advisors / robots where generated with FTMO historical data. As a result the robots should perform best when used with FTMO prop firm. Now robots can be used with different prop firms but the results will be different. So what do you do to gain confidence. To resolve this difference it is recommended to backtest with the prop firm you plan on using for your challenge and then use the results to make trading decisions.

ParticipantHi Joko,
Sounds like a problem with Metatrader. Try to enter the SL manually and see if Metatrader will accept it.

ParticipantHi Kevin,
The FTMO swing accounts are the way to go!
The fact that the CPI news caused your demo account to surpass the 5% level tells me you are taking too much risk. Like you say, if the CPI went the other way, or your trade was in the opposite direction it could have caused you to get locked out for the rest of the day.

ParticipantHi Daniel,
FTMO v5.0 was developed to run on M15 and all its indicators have their setting optimized for this time frame. This is the time frame the FTMO robots should perform the best. I don’t know how it would perform if you were to run it on M1, however, you can always experiment.

Participantdusktrader,
This occurs because each prop firm and each brokers historical data is slightly different. If you are going to use a certain prop firm then you should do your backtesting using that prop firm historical data and then plan your trades based upon the results of backtesting with that prop firm. Keep this in mind when sharing results with other traders. The results will be different with different prop firms or brokers.

ParticipantHi Eric,
The charts I shared are the backtest over the last 6 months using FTMO historical data. I like to backtest for at least 1 month before moving to a live account. However, you can use the amount of backtesting time that works best for you. It is my opinion that the longer you backtest the more accurate the backtest but using too long a backtest period can cause the market conditions to change while you are backtesting. This is why I choose 1 month for my backtesting.
It is my opinion that the best way to backtest is to use the same prop firm as you are going to use in live trading so the historical data is the same. Using other brokers for backtesting will give different results because their spreads will be different and they may or may not charge commissions and the commissions could be different. So what I do is to use the lowest cost live prop firm account to do my demo testing and I use the smallest lot size for the robots (0.01 lots) I am testing so not to have much drawdown.

ParticipantYou should get an installation PDF. Petko is currently working on a new video.
If you have the PDF and are still having problems with the installation please show a screenshot of the issue you are having so I can see what is going on.
