ParticipantHello,
I purchased the FTMO Robot V6 on January 7, 2024 and have been testing it for the past 3 weeks. In the first week, there were no trades on the demo account. The second week performed better with several trades, but they were quite different from those displayed on the FTMO Robot App. Since January 22, 2024, I have placed the top 3 performers of the last week from the FTMO Robot App on my active 50k Challenge (Broker: Eightcap).
Unfortunately, this account is currently in the negative again.
I understand that no EA guarantees a hundred percent chance of profit, but I am definitely not satisfied with this highly varied performance.
I have also noticed that many trades initially go well but do not reach the TP (Take Profit) and unfortunately hit the SL (Stop Loss) over time.
• My question is, why doesn’t the FTMO Robot automatically move the SL to break-even or even into the profit zone after some time in profit?
• I would also like to know approximately the chances of passing a challenge and how long one should roughly plan for it?
Overall, I am a big fan of the EA Trading Academy and the YouTube videos, but unfortunately, I am disappointed with the FTMO Robot.
Thank you in advance for your attention, and I am available to discuss further details.
Best regards

ParticipantHi Guys
I am starting with a small prop firm challenge and was wondering if you can confirm whether the set file setting is correct below for the FTMO app.
Account size $6000
Target 10%
Max Daily Loss 4%
Max Overall Loss 6%
FTMO Set file setting.
Account size $6000
Maximum daily loss:240
Minimum equity:5650
Maximum equity:6650
Does the FTMO app suitable for a 1 phase challenge like a Turbo challenge? What would be the best setting for a 1 phase challenges?
Alan Northam
ParticipantHi Joseph,
Your settings will work but I would recommend a slight change:
Maximum daily loss:210 (240 – 0.5% of account balance)
Minimum equity:5670 (5640 + 0.5% of account balance)
Maximum equity:6630 (6600 +0.5% of account balance)

ParticipantHi Max,
Look at the FTMO app over the last 1 month and you can see the robots had some nice profits. Also pay attention to the blue lines on the charts and they will show you the robots had periods of drawdowns but over the longer term have been quite successful.

ParticipantHi Alan
Thank you for the quick reply.
Do you have any advice on what setting we should use ,if it was a 1 step challenge?
Regards
Joe

ParticipantHi Joe,
The settings for a 1 step challenge would depend upon the specifications of the challenge.

ParticipantHi Alan
I am currently testing a $6,000 challenge from the funded engineer.
I am not sure what you mean by depend upon the specifications of the challenge. Eager to
learn from you, whether 1 step challenge is easier and better than the 2 step Challenges.
Regards
Joseph

ParticipantFollowing from Max’s comment, I do think that the EA should automatically move the SL to break-even or even into the profit zone after some time in profit. I noticed on the USDCHF trade opened yesterday that it has accumulated over $200 in profit, but it didn’t close the trade in profit and as a result it is now in the negative.
Even if the EA has been quite successful over the long run, wouldn’t the result be even better if the current trading strategy of the EA is optimised? I think having a trailing strategy in it would be better than just a single TP
