ParticipantHi Lee,
The FTMO Expert Advisors do not randomize trades. Having said that the same Expert Advisor will trade somewhat differently from one broker to another. This is because the historical data is not exactly the same from broker to broker. Even if you place the same Expert Advisor on two different charts with the same broker one of the charts may place a trade and the other may not place the same trade at the same time. This is because of the difference in the time it takes metatrader to send the order to the broker varies.
Congratulations on passing the evaluation stage!

ParticipantHi fxbarn,
At the bottom of the EA property box is a comment space. You can type in your own magic number.

ParticipantHi Robert: What broker are you using? When you backtest are you using the same account size and lot size as you have with your demo account? When you backtest the EAs how often are they taking trades? Based upon how often the EAs are placing trades during your backtesting, are you allowing enough time on your demo account for the EAs to place trades. If you are doing all these things and your EA still is not taking trades I would suggest you click on the Strategy tab in EA Studio, click on each indicator so it shows the settings, and show me all the screenshots so I can recreate the EA on my end so I can test it. Hang in there, we will figure it out!

ParticipantSince GBPCAD is getting an Error message saying trade is disabled this normally occurs when the broker will not allow trades to be taken. Since you can manually open trades it leads me to believe your broker does not allow auto-trading. Further since the other two EAs are also not taking trades makes me wonder if they too are getting the trading disabled message. However, if the other two EAs has not been active long enough it could be that the EAs have not yet tried to take a trade. This then makes me wonder if when these two EAs do try to take a trade will they then have their trades disabled by your broker. Right now it is my opinion your broker could be blocking auto trading. I recommend you contact your broker to verify if they allow trading with Expert Advisors.

ParticipantDo you get the same error message for all EAs?
Alan Northam
ParticipantThis means that you cannot place any orders, including market orders and pending orders. If this is the reason why you are receiving the trade is disabled error message in MT4, the solution to this problem is simple. Just wait for the market to open and try to execute your trade again.

ParticipantHi Robert,
Answer 1: Make sure you use a separate MT4 for each demo account and do not close them during the trading week. Also make sure you see a smiley face in the upper right hand corner of the chart.
Answer 2: You can manually close open trades. This will not affect the EA. The next time the EA sees a trade opportunity it will place a new trade.
Answer 3: You can upload an EA made by EA Studio back into EA Studio to backtest it or to make changes to it.

ParticipantHi Achmidius,
I am happy to hear you solved the problem. Keep in mind however, that not all brokers will provide the same results when the same EAs are placed on them. It is a good idea to place the same EAs with multiple brokers, wait a month, and see which broker gives the best trade history. Then choose that broker to trade EAs with.

ParticipantHi Cristian,
Yes MT5 is Hedged!
The reason GBPCAD is reverse between MT4 and MT5 could be the MT5 hedging or in the EA Properties settings. Please provide a screenshot of the MT4 and MT5 EA Properties settings.
Alan,

ParticipantMT4 only allows Hedging whereas MT5 allows both Hedging a Netting. You may have MT5 set to Netting this would cause a difference in how these two terminals trade. You can choose Hedging or Netting when you create a demo of live account.

ParticipantThis error message usually occurs when there is an issue with your broker.
What is your account size?
Try to place a small trade manually, such as 0.01 lots, to see if your broker will accept this trade. You can then close the trade.
If you can place a small manual trade then try a small lot size with the EA.
If you still cannot place a trade contact your broker on why you are not able to place a trade.Alan,
