FTMO daily loss limit is 5% so 3% risk is still OK.  I am just pointing out the risk so you are aware of it!

Yes this is correct if you want to limit your risk to 1% for each EA. However, if all three EAs start trading then your overall risk will be 3%.

When I exit MT5 and relaunch it, MT5 does compile the EA. If MT5 is not doing this for you then I would suspect your copy of MT5 is corrupt. I would recommend to completely delete MT5 and install a new copy of MT5 downloaded from your broker, and try again.

Hope you get it working correctly!

I would wait 1 week to identify the top performer.  You can change the amount of time to see what works best for you.

There will always be periods of profits and periods of losses.  There are many strategies that can be used to minimize losses so that over the long term the account will be profitable.  One strategy is to have several Expert Advisors trading.  When one EA is going through a period of drawdown the other EAs may be going through periods of profits.   Another strategy is to have a demo account of the 7 EAs and only move the Top performer to a live account or maybe the top 3 performers.  Then once each week (you can change this time to see what works best for you) review the demo account and move the top performers to the live account.

    Hope this helps!

The FTMO Expert Advisors are to be placed on the M1 time frame.

I have a few of ideas.  1.  In the EA properties box reduce all four of the first four lines from 1.0 to 0.01 to see if you now start to get trades.  2.  Start a 200K FTMO demo swing trade account and add all 7 EAs.  I know the EAs will work there.  This way you can start tracking which EAs are performing the best in the current market environment while you continue to resolve the issues with the other brokers.  3.  Contact each broker and make sure they allow EAs.  4.  Give me access to your computer so I can make sure everything is setup properly.

    Hi Dennis,

Different brokers will yield somewhat different results. It is recommended to have demo accounts on several brokers and add the same EAs to each broker. Then follow the results for a couple of weeks to a month and see which broker performs the best. The broker performing the best is the one to be selected for a live account.

    Hi Jason,

The EAs will go through periods of profit and periods of losses.  You have to give the EAs more time to work.

    Hi Joao,

Trading goes through periods of gains and period of loss.  In the long term with our EAs the gains will be greater than the losses.  Give it a few weeks and you should see some nice profits.   I have a demo FTMO account I share in the Prop Firm area of the forum where you can follow my results.  In this account it did good for the first several weeks and made a 7% profit.  Then over the last month it as lost 1% giving me a total profit since the beginning of August of 6%.  I expect in the months ahead this demo account will once again provide some nice profits.  Successful trading comes with time so hang in there!

    Hi Oliver,

Are you downloading the premium data and importing it into MT4 so you can backtest an Expert Advisor using MT4 Strategy Tester? Is this what you are trying to do? How much memory does your computer have?

To test the EA to make sure it is working correctly use the Strategy Tester.

I don’t see anything that could be stopping the EA from taking trades.  Let me know if you still have not had any trades and I will alert Petko!

    Hi Trinidad,

Can you provide a screenshot of your MT4 including your EA properties?

    What broker are you using?

Does your broker allow trading with EAs?
