ParticipantThen I would have to say the EA’s are properly installed. I installed v5.1 two days ago on a FREE FTMO demo account and I already have one EA trade closed, with a loss, and 5 of the 8 EA’s have open trades.
Are you testing on Free FTMO demo account or FTMO Challenge?

ParticipantOk, so far so good!
Next, I am assuming you are referring to the FTMO v5.1 robots.
Now, did you load the proper setfiles based upon the account size into the EA using the “Load” button while installing the EA?
For example: With a 25K account the 25K setfile should be loaded.

ParticipantDo you see a smiley face or a blue hat in the upper right corner of the chart? If not then check to see if the AutoTrading or AlgoTrading button is pressed. If the button is pressed and you don’t see a smiley face or a blue hat then you need to remove the EA and reinstall. Make sure the button is pressed before reinstalling the EA.

ParticipantSorry I just now stumbled upon this response and I wanted to clear up any confusion.
Here is what I said, “There is nothing in the terms and conditions that says anything about more than one trader using the same third party EA’s.”
In otherwords, there is nothing in the terms and conditions that says only one trader can use the same strategy, many traders can use the same strategy.
Where the problem come into play is when the total of all traders accounts reach 3 million dollars. Once this limit is reached then all traders using the same strategy will be asked to change their strategy. It is only if the traders refuse to change their strategy will their accounts be locked out. According to Petko, all you need to do to change the strategy is to change the magic number. So until the 3 million dollar limit is reached traders can use the same strategy. You are not going to lose your account. The worse thing you may have to do is to change the magic number. A good reason to use MT4 because MT5 does not use magic numbers. I don’t know if adding a comment would change the strategy just as a magic number does.
Hope this clears up the confusion.

ParticipantI do not use my VPS to test Expert Advisors. I have an old pc I use for this purpose which I leave running 24/7. If my power goes out or the internet is down, which does not happen often, I just take note and continue on with my testing as a few yours when the power is down or the internet is down is a small period of time compared to testing for a week or more. A few hours when the internet is down does not affect the overall testing results.

ParticipantThanks for your question!
The reason we are given 8 Expert Advisors to trade is because they do not all trade at the same period of time. If they did all trade at during the same period of time we would not need 8 Expert Advisors as only 1 would do. For this reason we need to test the Expert Advisors to determine which of them are trading more profitable in the current market environment.
As an example, there are times when a certain Expert Advisor will be in a losing position for a several weeks or even several months while other Expert Advisors are profitable. It is therefore necessary for us to determine which Expert Advisors are currently being profitable.

ParticipantHi Alex,
Unfortunately, the historical data for FTMO and Surge Trader are not the same. Therefore, the top performers may be different between these two prop firms. Having said that the Expert Advisors should still work. I would give it another day to two. If you don’t see any trades then contact Surge Trader support.

ParticipantNice! I will start a 50K Evaluation using v5.1 robots.

ParticipantI have also discovered when I trade the same EAs on Oanda demo account and the Oanda live account I get different results such that my EAs win on the Oanda demo account and lose of the Oanda live account. So even when I live trade with Oanda I demo test on the live account as well.
Currently I am demo testing the FTMO v5.1 robots on the FTMO demo account. So, once I start trading these robots on a challenge I will be able to see if there is a significant change between the demo account and the challenge account. I will not be starting a challenge until after the first of the new year.

ParticipantHi bryan,
I don’t use Waka Waka the cost is too high. Waka Waka has an average annual profit of 40% with 2023 only providing a 30% profit. So to recover your cost in one year you would have to trade an account size of at least $7000.00. An account of $3500.00 would take two years to recover your investment cost. So, in my opinion, it takes too long to start making a profit. I find for small accounts of less than $10,000 it is better to trade Petko’s FTMO robots where you can start making profit after only two months using the FTMO prop firm challenge.
For answers to your question you can either wait for Petko to pop into the forum to answer your question or you may get a quicker answer by contacting support@eatradingacademy. com .

ParticipantHi Brian,
Yes I see differences when I test on Oanda and trade the top performers on FTMO Challenge. So what I do is to place all robots in a challenge with small lot size. Then when I see top performers I increase the lot size to 1%.

ParticipantOpen two demo accounts named demo acct 1 and demo acct 2. Then install two separate MT4 terminals on your pc.

Then launch one MT4 Test Demo 1 and log into demo acct 1 using login name and pw and server name you got when you created demo acct 1. Now do the same for the other demo account.
Alan,

ParticipantNo. For example you could open 2 demo accounts with the same Broker.

ParticipantHi Robby,
Thanks for the encouragement!
FTMO only allows one FREE FTMO demo account at a time for each trader.
If you are using your own broker you can open two demo accounts. Then install 2 different MT4 terminals. During the installation process you can give each MT4 terminal a unique name, like Demo V5 and Demo V5.1, so you can tell them apart.
Hope I have answered your question!

ParticipantToday I start a FREE FTMO V5.1 demo Challenge. I will now wait until the end of the end of the year to determine the top EAs.
